International Delegates Explore Cape Town.
The Sorrento Team recently had the opportunity to share the magic of Cape Town with a group of international conference guests. The group was staying at the fabulous Taj Hotel where their company’s annual global conference was held. Our team was constantly behind the scenes these four days to make sure that all events ran smoothly. We might even have enjoyed the experience more than our guests! Seeing the beauty of Cape Town through the eyes of individuals from countries all around the world was truly a privilege. We were once again wowed by the depth of history captured in Robben Island and realized why Table Mountain is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World.
Our in-house photographer, Michelle du Toit, was lucky enough to accompany the group on their expeditions around the city to capture the whole experience.
The Taj Hotel was the gracious host of our guests’ conference. After spending the day in the old world-styled conference venue our guests would embark on other adventures to explore our vibrant Mother City.
The first evening of the group’s visit they attended a dinner in the Taj’s very own Reserve, which is of course a phenomenal venue that within itself holds a wealth of history. Guests where entertained by Tucan Tucan’s unique musical style.
The group paid a visit to the historical Robben Island on the second day. Not only was it interesting and informative, but it was beautiful as well! Robben Island offers the most marvelous views of Table Mountain and her surrounds. The soothing boat ride to the island and the bus tour around it offers plenty of time to admire these scenes.
The day was ended off with a traditional meal at the colourful Mama Africa Restaurant.
Of course their Cape Town experience would not have been complete without a trip up Table Mountain. It was the perfect day for such an outing. Our international guests were able to meander around the top of the mountain and admire the views. The group witnessed a spectacular sunset before gliding back down the mountain to finish off the third day with a meal at the iconic V&A Waterfront.
