Chelsea Flower Show 2017.
We are so fortunate to have a Sorrento Events team based in London. This is our secret weapon when it comes to staying ahead of trends and styles. For this reason our team was to be found at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show this past week. As the world’s most prestigious floral event, there was an abundance of inspiration to be tapped into.
Shahnee George (event designer & coordinator) and Francois van Tonder (CEO of Sorrento Events) enjoyed a private tour of all the gardens and displays one early morning before the crowds arrived. Acting as their tour guide was David Davidson, the designer for the South African National Biodiversity Institute of Kirstenbosch. He also won gold for the President’s Award at the Flower Show this year.
What impressed the most were all the beautiful blooms. The flowers were spectacular! Shahnee commented: “Flowers on steroids. They were the largest and most beautiful I have ever seen. I had to walk up to them to see if they were actually real.”
Flowers of all different origins, colours, shapes and textures filled the space. You could only stand in awe at the variety and the pure beauty of it all. It is a tall order to capture all there was to see, but we wanted to share a few images to give you a glimpse of what the show offered this year.
